Empowering Future Innovators

Welcome to the OARA Youth Innovation Lab – a place where innovation, creativity, and curiosity come together to shape the next generation of STEM leaders. Over the past two and a half years, we’ve built a strong foundation rooted in community support, real-world learning, and youth-driven innovation.
We are proud of our Vernon Robotics Team, both beginner and intermediate groups, who made it to the Provincials in Vancouver last year — one of our most celebrated milestones. From RC jets and airplanes to drone projects, research work, and real-world robot challenges, our students continue to inspire us every day.
This is a space where there is something for everyone — and your continued support and feedback have been instrumental in shaping our journey. We’ve always operated with the heart and spirit of a not-for-profit, and we are now formally transitioning into one legally.
As part of this reorganization, our name will also change to OARA Youth Innovation Lab, reflecting our broader mission to support youth-driven STEM innovation across Canada.
Over the next month, we’ll be implementing changes to our governance and operational structure. These adjustments are mostly legal in nature and will not affect the vision, mission, or quality of our makerspace and educational delivery.
Thank you for standing with us through this important transition.
